Instagram comment to DM automation
A comment can be the start of a useful conversation. CheapChat can send a private reply when someone comments a chosen keyword on your Instagram post or Reel, so they receive the link or answer they asked for.
How it works
- Connect an account. Sign in and connect an Instagram Business or Creator account through Meta authorization. CheapChat does not need your Instagram password.
- Choose a comment trigger. Select a post or Reel and a keyword. When someone comments with that keyword, the automation can send a private reply.
- Write the message. Add the reply you want to send, including a link if useful. You can also write a public reply under the comment.
- Preview and publish. Review the trigger and message in the builder, then activate the automation. Check resulting conversations in the inbox.
For example, a creator can ask viewers to comment “GUIDE” on a Reel. The automation can reply privately with a link to the guide. CheapChat also supports separate automations for keywords sent in incoming DMs.
What a private reply allows
Instagram permits one private reply to a qualifying comment under its comment reply rules. A comment does not give a business permission to keep sending promotional messages. Further messages depend on the person engaging and the applicable messaging window.
